Hiroko Matsuyama is the leader and President of the Ohara School of Ikebana Massachusetts Chapter. She is a Sub-Grand Master in the Ohara School of Ikebana. Hiroko started practicing Ikebana in high school, was granted her 1st Term Masters Certification in 1995, and moved to Boston from Osaka, Japan in 1997. She is a member of the North American Ohara Teachers Association (NAOTA) and Ikebana International Boston Chapter. Hiroko has demonstrated her Ikebana in the New England area and beyond.

Ping Wong & Debby Wong

Ping Wong and Debby Wong are certified instructors of the Massachusetts Chapter of the Ohara School of Ikebana holding the rank of the Third Master’s Degree in January of 2026. With over 8 years of experience and active members of the Ohara School community, they trained under Hiroko Matsuyama. Ping and Debby are dedicated to teaching the traditional aesthetic of the Ohara school, focusing on the careful selection of seasonal materials to create asymmetrical, yet balanced, arrangements that bring the essence of nature indoors. Both Ping and Debby are active Board Members of the Ohara School MA Chapter and also members of The North American Ohara Teachers Association (NAOTA).
